The Bay House is a modern Hamptons beach house located on a bluff overlooking Noyack Bay with dramatic 180-degree views. The home and site were designed to evoke the relaxed comfort, atmosphere and feeling of a retreat getaway, inspired by a blend of Southeast Asia Modern and Mid-Century California architectural influences. Commonalities were found between these architectural styles and were developed into a holistic design and vision affecting architecture and interiors. A generous zone of outdoor living spaces was created to amplify the resort-like experience and extend the program beyond the perimeter of the home. The street-facing façade introduces an architectural language of horizontal lines and materiality which continue inside the home with custom oak and bronze screening and softly textured natural stones in a neutral palette. These create aesthetic continuity and a foundation for custom and curated decorative elements. Public and private areas are arranged around a long cross-axis, offering breathtaking moments from varied points within the home and an open, airy relationship to the bayside landscape.
